My Story

How I Became a Massage Therapist

Growing up, I was obsessed with the country New Zealand. It began by watching the show Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys with my Papa. I fell in love with the country and began to do anything I could to research more about it, the culture, the movies/tv shows made there, various landscapes and attractions, etc… Any and all school papers I had to do in middle school and high school, I somehow managed to find a way to incorporate New Zealand into. Why does this have to do with massage? Because in high school, one of my teachers had us write a research paper and due to her disinterest in learning even more about my beloved New Zealand than she already had up to that point, she said everyone could pick their topic but me. She would chose for me and she picked Massage Therapy. I did my research and something about this profession clicked with me. I then began to look even further into it locally and decided it sounded like something I could really do. After graduating, I had enrolled to start at Apollo College (now Carrington College) that following fall 2009. I stuck it out and found I had a gift for it and thouroughly enjoyed helping others and have been doing it ever since. While I may have had other plans up to that time, I know wholeheartedly that massage was my true calling.

For those who have read all of the above and want a good laugh: My research paper I did for the assignment, I chose to do Massage Therapy on cruise ships and chose a cruise that went to New Zealand.

That earned me an eye roll from my teacher and laughter from my classmates.

My Mission

My mission as a LMT has always been to treat each client coming to me as if they arent just another body on the table. I  believe by asking in depth questions that it not only helps me get to know my client as an individual, but also tells me how they live and function on a day to day basis. This helps me in providing the best treatment for my clients and recommendations for what to do for self-care in between sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cash, Card, and in some emergency cases Venmo.

Why wont you answer phone calls?

As a massage therapist, I am constantly in and out of sessions with small breaks in between. If you call and I do not answer, I will call you at my earliest availability, but more often than not I can text faster than having a phone conversation. Either way, please leave a message with your information so that I can better assist you.

Why should I book with you when I can go somewhere cheaper?

My rates are based off the value of my knowledge base and experience as a LMT. By booking with me, you are supporting a local small business where all of your money is kept within my business to help it grow and myself as your LMT. As opposed to other places where your LMT only gets paid a portion of what you pay and more often than not, has you on a monthly membership plan.

How far in advance do you book Out?

Having had the experience of dealing with crazy scheduling, I have decided to only book ONE month in advance for better convience for not only myself, but also those who would prefer last minute scheduling.

Once my availability is full for the following month, I will begin a cancellation list.

How often should I book my massages?

Each individual is different when it comes to their massage needs. I usually recommend every 2-4wks with my average clientele booking every 2-3wks.
